Welcome to Patterned Pathways
I'm so glad you’re here. I'm ready to walk beside you in empowering your communication journey. This guide will walk you through the starting services with Partnered Pathways, LLC.
How We Start
01
Inquiry
Reach out via email or call form to share a bit about you or your child's communication journey and what you're looking for.
02
Discovery Call
We'll schedule a free phone consultation to discuss your needs, answer questions, and see if we're the right fit.
03
Schedule
Set up a time to begin the evaluation, therapy, or coaching based on your needs. I will send you a follow up email necessary information from there.
04
Starting Therapy
Once evaluated, we begin regular therapy or coaching sessions focused on meaningful connection and functional communication goals.
What to Expect
As a parent myself, I know that starting therapy can feel like a big step. Our goal is to make the intake process and initial sessions as smooth, transparent, and welcoming as possible.
Streamlined Paperwork
I handle the heavy lifting. My online portal makes it easy to complete necessary intake forms and share information securely from the comfort of your home.
Collaborative Teamwork
Communication happens everywhere. I will proactively coordinate with everyone involved in your or your child's care to ensure strategies are consistent across all environments.
Play-Based & Strengths-Focused
Sessions are child-led and joy-filled. I will focus on what your child can do, using their unique interests and strengths to build meaningful communication skills.
Common Questions
What are your current wait times?
Wait times fluctuate based on the type of service needed (evaluation vs. ongoing therapy). During our discovery call, I will provide an up-to-date estimate and can discuss flexible scheduling options.
Do you take insurance?
Patterned Pathways is an out-of-network provider, which allows me to focus entirely on your child's needs rather than insurance constraints. I will provide superbills for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.
Where do visits take place?
In-person services are available in the office located in Falls Church, VA and occasionally in the community or home. Teletherapy is also available for those located in Virginia as well as virtual coaching no matter where you are. Virtual coaching allows me to support families and teams across the state. We’ll help you decide which format best supports your needs. (Please note that coaching is not reimbursable by insurance.)
How do I know if my child is ready for AAC?
There are no prerequisites for communication! If your child is struggling to meet their needs or share their thoughts using speech alone, they are ready to explore AAC. I will focus on building on their existing strengths from day one. It is never too early or too late to find a path to communication!
How should I prepare for the first visit?
Complete the forms sent through the portal and then just bring yourself and your child! Having their favorite toys or snacks handy can help them feel comfortable. I also recommend having any previous reports or school IEPs available.
Do I, as the caregiver, need to be present for the session?
Building the path to communication takes a team. By being present in therapy sessions, I will be able to better guide you to help build this pathway. I understand that having caregivers in the session is not always feasible. If this is the case, I ask caregivers to either observe virtually, plan to chat briefly after the session, and/or schedule a monthly meeting to discuss progress and how I can best support everyone.
